This group is for any parent or caregiver of children who identify as boys, ages 5-12 or in grades Kindergarten - 5th Grade. This class will be a supportive community for those who feel curious and/or challenged by the demands of parenting their grade-school boy, and who are interested in building and maintaining a strong parent/child dynamic heading into puberty and beyond. We will discuss evidence-based information on child development, parenting philosophy and practices, and the lowdown on mainstream trends and ways they may affect boys. Discussion topics will spring from the content in the excellent book Building Boys; Raising Great Guys in a World that Misunderstands Males by Jennifer L.W. Fink. Although not officially a book study, having a copy of the book would be helpful for participants (but is not required).
